grobag® has swaddling wrapped up

Safe sleep specialist grobag® has launched a new swaddling wrap, designed to make swaddling simple for all parents.

gro-group™ created and researched many design options before coming up with the easy-to-use wrap design of grobag® swaddling.   Feedback from their panel of testers helped to create a product which combined the benefits of traditional swaddling without endless layers to unwrap.

The simple design is easy to use because it is pre-shaped to fit the baby and has an additional foot-pouch.  It is made out of stretchy cotton that wraps snugly around the baby, with no fiddly zips, poppers or Velcro. It can be used with the baby’s arms inside or outside the swaddle.

Swaddling has been used for centuries to recreate the comforting and soothing feeling of being in the womb, by creating a very slight pressure around the baby’s body. Recent studies have suggested that swaddling can help newborn babies to settle more easily and assist them to sleep for longer. It can be particularly beneficial for babies who experience the moro reflex, the tendency for newborns to startle and upset themselves by suddenly moving their limbs and it is also thought that swaddling may be able to ease the discomfort of colic.

Swaddling is recommended for newborns up to three months.  The grobag® swaddling is available in one size which can be used with babies from birth up to 14lbs. It is made from 100% machine-washable cotton in a contemporary ‘jungle friends’ print.
